YouTube's viewers increasingly are watching professionally produced content
People View a BILLION Videos/day on YouTube Alone!
What are the billion video views a day that YouTube records worth?
In a word: More. According to Citigroup analyst Mark Mahaney, during 2010 video hub will generate more than $1.1 billion in revenues… and that's in his opinion a conservative estimate. Mark also says that Google will finally see about $700 million of that as net revenue. This year, he says, YouTube should gross just under $1 billion, about $945 million.
And this was the company Google purchased for 1.3 billion dollars while YouTube were losing 1 million dollars each month…
Little wonder video ranks well on search engines like Google- they must make their investment pay off fast!
And ofcourse, they also want to cater to the masses of video lovers. The interesting thing about Mark's observations is that people are watching more commercial videos. Video is becoming so mainstream in marketing, people want to see video product reviews, video tutorials, video sales letters. They are used to TV spoon feeding them information, and are lazy to bother reading or thinking too much…
Video has a high perceived value and people tend to trust more information they get via video.
When people see you in a video they also feel familiar to you, trust you more and bond faster.
